Tips when drilling beans in 2022
- Apply lime and Phosphorous before drilling if levels are low - (combine drill P for best results).
- Drill 220 kg/ha (14 st/ac) LYNX or VICTUS
- Use glyphosate post direct-drilling if perennial weeds are present
- Roll the seedbed before applying residual herbicides.
- Drilling date is not a key factor for spring bean yields (see chart)
Over past six years, early drilled crops are no more likely to yield relative later drilled crops
